The Municipality of Tarragona will formally open the 1st Ka’aNiYogan Festival with a Tree Planting and Coastal Clean-Up Activity on June 12.
Mayor Art Benjie “Kaka” Bulaong said the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) will spearhead the activity, which aims to preserve the natural resources and agricultural assets found in Tarragona.

Tarragona is known for its vast agricultural lands that are ideal for high-value crops. It is heavily engaged in coconut farming and is also recognized for its community-based banana farming and the cultivation of emergency food crops such as breadfruit.
The municipality is likewise characterized by its pristine coastlines and natural landscapes, making it an emerging tourist destination for travelers exploring the eastern coast of Mindanao.
Mayor Bulaong emphasized that the first Ka’aNiYogan Festival is not only a celebration of Tarragona’s natural resources but, more importantly, a tribute to the resilience and unity of its people.
Thus, Mayor Bulaong ensured that a series of cash relief assistance under Alalay sa Krisis program is rolled out across the municipality to ensure that the people would feel the support and efforts of the local government.
