Advocacy-driven initiative aims to save 1 million sachets from landfills
Davao City – Project Lun’auhag, a grassroots sustainability movement, has officially opened its first refillery station in Davao City. A milestone towards its mission of reducing single-use plastics and building barangays without sachet waste.
The refillery station provides eco-friendly, refillable alternatives to everyday household essentials such as shampoo, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, and other personal care and cleaning products. Instead of relying on disposable sachets and bottles, residents can now bring their own containers and refill sustainably.
“For many communities, sachets have been the only affordable option. Gaining us a reputation of becoming the Top 1 Ocean polluter in the world. In reality, sachets are not affordable. Project Lun’awhag exists to change that culture, by giving people real, affordable, and accessible alternatives, ” said Jaki Bancale, Project Lun’awhag Lead.
Since starting operations, Lun’awhag has already saved 9,856 sachets from ending up in landfills and waterways. Each refill represents a small but powerful act of refusal — a refusal of waste, pollution, and the throwaway culture that has burdened Filipino communities for decades.

Ambassadors and Partners
In full force with Kahayag Foundation, Mothers for Peace, JCI Duwaling, IDIS. The advocacy has also garnered the support of youth leaders, local organizations, and Davao’s pageant queens including Katriana Batu (Pag-asa ng Davao) and Gab Thauto (Diwa ng Dabaw 2025), who serve as advocates of the “Refill Revolution. ” Local businesses and community sponsors, including Pristine Paradigm, have also pledged their support through eco-center sponsorships.

More Than a Store, it’s A Movement
Lun’awhag’s refillery station doubles as an eco-center, a hub for sustainability education, community building, and grassroots advocacy. Visitors can not only refill their household essentials, but also learn about reducing waste, track their personal impact as Eco-Movers, and join collective efforts to save 1 million sachets from the environment.“This is not just about selling products. This is about reclaiming our future, one that is not sold to us, ” added Jaki Bancale
