SM Lanang and SM City Davao employees took time off work to volunteer to clean and repaint classrooms in two public schools in Davao City in support of the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela.
Around 40 employees from both malls helped clean and repair classrooms in Vicente Hizon, Sr. Elementary School and Tugbok National High School in separate HR-led activities conducted on June 11, 2025. 


SM Lanang also handed some cleaning tools and paint kits to Vicente Hizon, Sr. Elementary School Head Lubel Banaria.


This year’s Brigada Eskwela, themed “Brigada Eskwela: Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa,” highlights volunteer initiatives to ensure a clean, safe, and inclusive learning, teaching, and working environment for learners and teaching and non-teaching personnel, respectively.


SM Davao Malls, through its corporate social responsibility arm SM Cares, has a longstanding tradition of participating in the annual Brigada Eskwela under the company’s employee volunteerism program of the HR Department.
