DAVAO CITY NCCC officially introduced its first-ever NCCC Supermarket Pickleball Tournament during a media conference held on March 25 at the Activity Area of NCCC Supermarket Mall Ma-a.
The event gathered members of the media, partners, and stakeholders, with Gerome Sanoy serving as the host and moderator.
Key speakers shared important insights about the tournament. Coach McCoy Camarote serving as Tournament Director, discussed the event details, while Glynis Labradores highlighted the partnership with Joola.
Support for the initiative was also expressed by Shiara Mae Cuizon, Account Specialist of Unilever Philippines, and Marianne Lorico of Coca-Cola.
Also present were tournament ambassador Christopher John Estremos, Mikee Aportadera, Davao Sports Development Chief, and Maryel Galupar, Admin Head of House of Hope.
During the conference, Lafayette Lim, CEO of NCCC Group of Companies, highlighted the purpose behind the tournament and introduced its official beneficiary.
“Although pickleball may be considered a secondary sport for some, especially for those who play basketball or swim, this tournament goes beyond competition. We recognize that the greatest victories do not always happen on the court. They happen in the quiet, courageous battles fought every day by the most vulnerable members of our community. That is why I am deeply honored to announce that the House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer is our official tournament beneficiary,” Lim shared.

The House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer was officially named as the beneficiary of the event.
The tournament is set to take place on April 25 to 26 at Matina Town Square, bringing together pickleball enthusiasts and supporters for a fun and meaningful cause.
More updates on schedules and participation are expected soon.
