Davao City, Philippines — In support of road safety efforts in the Davao Region, Coca‑Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines (CCEAP) partners with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region XI to pilot the Promoting Accessible and Sustainable Assistance for Drivers’ Advancement (P.A.S.A.D.A.) Project, making CCEAP the first private‑sector partner to implement the program in the region.
As the bottling partner and official distributor of Coca‑Cola products in the country, CCEAP operates an extensive footprint of 18 manufacturing plants and more than 3,400 trucks that serve over one million sari‑sari stores. With its fleet on the road every day to deliver its iconic beverages to millions of Filipinos, ensuring the safety of its associates and the communities it serves remains a core priority.
The P.A.S.A.D.A. Project is LTO Region XI’s flagship initiative designed to bring essential LTO services directly to government agencies, business hubs, commercial establishments, and communities. Through this collaboration, CCEAP associates and their families gain access to licensing, compliance requirements, and essential road safety education.
A key component to this project is the rollout of road safety signages in strategic locations across the region, including identified accident‑prone areas in the Davao Region. These signages will be jointly developed by CCEAP and LTO Region XI and installed in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the city government, involved local government units (LGUs), and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The partnership was formalized in Davao City during a ceremonial signing attended by LTO Region XI Regional Director Atty. Ernesto Raphael Robillo, OIC–Assistant Regional Director Joel Mandaya, and the district heads of LTO Region XI. Representing CCEAP were Vice President for Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Atty. Juan Lorenzo Tañada, Logistics Manager Ralph Vincent Ang, Safety Associate Manager Marlon Avanzado, and EOSH Lead Paul Louie Labanen. Also present were Engr. Maria Gloria Sorrera of the DPWH Davao City District Engineering Office, PLTCOL Nolan Raquid, Deputy City Director for Administration of the Davao City Police Office, and Hon. Jose Marie Bernardo Baluran of the Davao City Council.
By improving road visibility and promoting safer driving practices, the initiative supports public safety, enhances community awareness and driver compliance, and contributes to the shared goal of building safer roads for all.
“At Coca‑Cola, safety is embedded in everything we do—from our manufacturing to our logistics operations that bring refreshing beverages to millions every day,” says Atty. Juan Lorenzo Tañada, Vice President for Corporate & Regulatory Affairs of CCEAP. “This joint effort strengthens the discipline, compliance, and responsible driving behaviors that keep our associates, our fleet, and the broader public safe. We look forward to expanding the impact of this collaboration as we continue to champion a strong safety culture across CCEAP and the communities we serve.”
The Land Transportation Office Region XI, mandated to promote road safety and driver compliance in the region, expressed its full support.
“Beyond issuing licenses, the work of the Land Transportation Office impacts the lives of every Filipino because all of us are road users, whether as pedestrians, commuters, or drivers,” says Atty. Ernesto Raphael Robillo, Regional Director of LTO Region XI. “With CCEAP and LTO working hand in hand, we can create safer roads and a future where discipline defines every Davaoeño driver. Road safety is not just a policy, but a shared responsibility and a commitment to protect every life and every journey.”
CCEAP continues to reinforce safety across its fleet and sites nationwide, advancing road safety within and beyond its operations and contributing to more resilient communities.
