DAVAO CITY – The public is invited to tour the new Davao Philippines Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This sacred house of worship will be the fifth Latter-day Saint temple in the country and the first in Mindanao.

The First Presidency of the Church has announced that the public open house will take place Thursday, March 26, through Friday, April 10, 2026 (excluding Sundays). The dedication ceremony will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 10 a.m. Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will preside at the dedication.

The public open house provides an opportunity for people to learn about the purpose of the house of the Lord and tour the temple’s beautiful grounds. Tours are free but to help ensure an orderly and meaningful experience for all visitors, reserving a tour time in advance is encouraged—but not required. More information is available at http://davaophilippinestemple.org

The temple is located in Ma-a Road and Anahaw Road, Brgy Ma-a, Davao City, and features design elements inspired by the embroidered piña fabric of the Philippines, incorporating patterns that depict local flora and traditional geometric artisan motifs. Notable as well is the art glass which highlights the vibrant colors of indigenous tropical flowers.

There are more than 900,000 Latter-day Saints in the Philippines, worshipping in more than 1,400 congregations. Once dedicated, the Davao Philippines Temple will serve members living in Mindanao. Operating temples in the Philippines are in Cebu City, Manila, Urdaneta and Alabang. Temples are under construction in Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro and Tacloban, and announced in Iloilo, Laoag, Naga, San Jose del Monte, Santiago and Tuguegarao City.

Temples of the Church of Jesus Christ differ from meetinghouses or chapels, where members gather for Sunday worship services. Each temple is considered a house of the Lord, where Jesus Christ’s teachings are reaffirmed through sacred ordinances that unite families eternally. In the temple, Church members learn more about the purpose of life and make covenants to follow Jesus Christ and serve others.

More information about the purpose of temples, as well as downloadable, high-resolution photos and b-roll of the interior and exterior of the temple is available at news-ph.churchofjesuschrist.org.
