Merry Christmas, Davao! Yes! It’s “Holidays in the City!”

The holiday spirit shines brighter this year as SM City Davao officially kicked off the Christmas season with its Grand Christmas Centerpiece Launch held on Tuesday evening, November 4, 2025, at The Annex Event Center.

Dabawenyos gathered to witness the lighting of the 30-foot-tall Christmas Tree, beautifully themed “Holiday in the City.” The event radiated festive elegance with its color motif in shades of green and red, perfectly capturing the warmth, joy, and timeless colors of Christmas.

This annual celebration once again brought SM mallgoers together — a moment that symbolizes the spirit of joy, love, and togetherness.

This year also marks another milestone for SM City Davao, as the mall expands with new spaces and experiences for shoppers and visitors in the south. The Christmas launch reflected this exciting growth, showcasing how SM Davao continues to serve as a favorite shopping destination.

Leading the event were key officials from SM City Davao, Department of Tourism Regional Director Ms Tanya Rabat-Tan, acting director of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) PCOL Mannan Caracas Muarip, the City Government of Davao, the City Tourism Operations Office with Ms, Threciah Hubahib joined by Mutya ng Dabaw 2025 Rebekah Gail C. Celis and Reyna ng Davao 2025 Chesca Montes, together with their respective courts — adding elegance and festive charm to the occasion.

Also present were members of the Davao media community and local influencers, who joined in capturing and sharing the highlights of the evening as the city welcomed the start of the Christmas season.

The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony once again reminded everyone of the simple joys of the holidays — unity, kindness, and gratitude — as Davao celebrates the most wonderful time of the year.
