General Santos City, Philippines — The Davao de Oro delegation to the Batang Pinoy 2025 National Championships showed not only skill and determination but also deep appreciation for the unwavering support of their provincial government, led by Hon. Governor Raul G. Mabanglo.

Throughout their week-long campaign in General Santos City, the young athletes felt the full backing of the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro, which ensured their comfort, safety, and morale from start to finish.

More than their 8-medal haul—comprising 1 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals—the delegation highlighted their gratitude for Governor Mabanglo’s hands-on support. The Governor assigned Executive Assistant III Kristine Anne Mabanglo, his daughter, to personally assist and accompany the athletes, ensuring that their daily needs were attended to.

Going beyond moral support, Governor Mabanglo and Congresswoman Maricar Zamora-Mabangloalso shouldered the cost of the delegation’s uniforms and arranged shuttle services to transport the athletes between their quarters and the different competition venues across the city.

In a gesture that further motivated the team, the Governor pledged to personally reward all medalists from his own pocket—an act warmly welcomed by the athletes and coaches alike.

With the success of their Batang Pinoy 2025 campaign, the Davao de Oro athletes vowed to return stronger in next year’s edition to be held in Bacolod City, once again representing the province with pride and determination.

Their journey stands as a proud reflection of Davao de Oro’s commitment to nurturing young talents and promoting sports excellence across the province.
