Maragusan, Davao de Oro, Philippines — In support of the ongoing tourism revitalization program of Davao de Oro, a community-led clean-up drive was held on October 11, 2025, along the trails leading to Marangig Falls in Barangay New Albay and La-e Falls in Barangay Lahi, Maragusan.

The initiative sought to restore, preserve, and promote the natural beauty of these eco-tourism destinations, which had experienced years of minimal upkeep due to limited activity in recent times. Local officials and residents worked hand in hand to prepare the area for the return of tourists and outdoor enthusiasts.

Participating in the clean-up activity were Maragusan Community Affairs Officer (CAO) Redel GolezBarangay Captain Tess Gran of New Albay, and Barangay Captain Jed Albarico of Lahi, alongside community volunteers, youth groups, and environmental advocates.

Volunteers collected waste, cleared walking trails, and repaired sections of the pathway to ensure safer and cleaner access for visitors. The local government emphasized that maintaining these sites is essential not only for environmental protection but also for strengthening the municipality’s tourism-driven livelihood programs.
