DAVAO CITY – In a move underscoring his commitment to transparency and integrity, vice mayoral candidate and incumbent Councilor Bernie Al-ag voluntarily underwent hair follicle and urine drug testing on Wednesday, May 8, 2025, at Hi-Precision Diagnostics, JP Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City.

Al-ag stated that the initiative was intended to set an example for all, particularly those seeking public office and those currently serving in government. He emphasized that public servants must demonstrate accountability, especially as the elections draw near.
He also called on public officials to take similar steps, highlighting the importance of earning the public’s trust by showing they are drug-free and committed to ethical leadership.
Following the testing, Al-ag addressed the media to discuss his candidacy, citing his experience as acting mayor and his accomplishments as a city councilor. Among his key platforms is the establishment of a local hospital to enhance healthcare services for Davaoeños.
