Davao, Philippines — Big Bad Wolf Books has commenced its last Philippine stop for 2023 in Davao City! In an exclusive sneak peek last December 14, the final leg of Big Bad Wolf Book Sale Philippines was graced by VIPs, esteemed media guests, and key opinion leaders.

Moreover, Big Bad Wolf Books is thrilled to invite Davaoeños to explore its large selection; over 2 million books, long lists of genres, and insane deals of up to 95% off.

WHERE: Function Hall 1, SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier

Among those who attended were Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino whose presence symbolises the strong ties between the Malaysia-born business and the Philippines. Consul General Deddy Faisal from the Consulate in Davao also graced the event, emphasising his endorsement of cultural initiatives and commitment to promoting literary engagement within the community.

Representing Vice President and Secretary of Education Sarah Duterte was Genrose Tecson, Head of the Office of the Vice President – Mindanao Office. Her presence highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives that contribute to the intellectual growth and well-being of Mindanaoans. Meanwhile, Salome M. Enoc, Officer-in-Charge of the City Library & Information Center, attended on behalf of Mayor Sebastian Duterte. 

Cherry Faye B. Al-Ag, representing Councilor Dr. Bernard Al-Ag, attended along with Davao City Tourism Operations Officer-in-Charge, Jennifer Romero, acknowledging the event’s potential as a tourist attraction for the city.

Representatives from other key partners of Big Bad Wolf Books Metrobank’s General Usage Head Ms. Emily Joy Koa and Gawad Kalinga Resource Generator volunteer Joey S. Mempin also graced the event, strengthening their potential collaboration for future events. 

SMX Convention Center’s involvement, led by Senior Branch Manager Daphne Alojad, and the support of SM Lanang, represented by Assistant Vice President of Operations Engineer Nick Santos, was pivotal in providing a conducive and accessible venue for the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale.

The collaboration of these distinguished individuals and organisations underscores the shared commitment to making literature accessible and fostering a culture of reading within the vibrant community of Davao City.
