San Juan, October 23, 2023 — The inaugural Speedo National Inter-school Swimming Championship, held at Xavier School on October 7th and 8th, 2023, marked a triumphant beginning for young swimmers from the National Capital Region (NCR). This prestigious event, organized by Swim Philippines in partnership with Speedo Philippines, co-presented by Bert Lozada Swim School and MILO® Philippines brought together over 500 varsity swimmers from various schools, demonstrating the incredible potential of young athletes in the sport of swimming.

This championship was not just a sports event, it was a platform that fostered camaraderie, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among young athletes. Its primary mission is to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and life skill development through competitive swimming. It aimed to recognize and celebrate the dedication and hard work of these athletes within their school communities as they strive to reach their personal best.

The competition, held over two days, showcased the immense talent and dedication of young swimmers who gave their all in the pool. Spectators were treated to thrilling races and outstanding performances, leaving no doubt that the future of Philippine swimming is bright.

Coach Angelo Lozada, Commissioner of Speedo Inter-school NCR Leg, expressed his congratulations and optimism for the future of grassroots swimming in the Philippines: “I would like to congratulate all the athletes, coaches, and schools who competed and showed their talents in swimming. I genuinely believe that this competition will play a pivotal role in enhancing the grassroots swimming program in our nation, promoting the growth and development of our aspiring swimmers and athletes.”

Following the success of the first Speedo National Inter-school Swimming Championship – NCR Leg, Swim Philippines invites swimmers and spectators alike to join the upcoming Speedo Inter-school 2023 series, which promises to continue showcasing the talents of young swimmers across the country.
