Davao City, August 18, 2023 – During Kadayawan Festival, one of the best actors of the Philippines took the opportunity to pay a visit to Davao City. He attended the exclusive Davao Media Event organized for the Davao Bloggers and Influencers , all centered around JT’s Manukan Grille Davao, a restaurant specializing in authentic Ilonggo Cuisine that traces its roots back to Bacolod. The owner of this establishment, Mr. Joel Torre himself, was present to share insights.

The Media Conference started off with an Opening Talk by the Franchise Branch Partner, Sir Paul Garcia. He elaborated on the strategic selection of the restaurant’s location, situated right in front of Doña Vicenta Park, with his Business Partner, Sir Carlos Veloso, they successfully revamped the business in September 2022. This venture involved the participation of Silent Partners, as well as plans with Sir Paul Henares regarding Dona Vicenta aspects.
Subsequently, the event formally commenced, with the Host, Ms. Aya, facilitating introductions from the Davao Bloggers Society and their respective platforms. Following this, an overview of JT’s Manukan Grille Davao was presented.
Joel Torre then took the floor to provide comprehensive insights about JT’s Manukan Grille Davao, delving into its history, products, and services.

One of the questions came from AndsDave, who inquired about his motivation to venture into this business. Mr. Torre explained that the driving force was the desire to provide for his large family.
Pauline posed a question about the inspiration behind this culinary endeavor, to which Mr. Torre responded that it was deeply connected to Bacolod, his family’s origins, and his mother’s influence.
Gem questioned the potential expansion to General Santos City. In response, he emphasized that the establishment’s reputation, intertwined with his name, was instrumental in bringing this culinary venture to fruition, focused on maintaining a reputable legacy.
Harel was curious about a menu item called “Apan-apan.” He clarified that it referred to Grasshopper, and further explained the presence of native water spinach, originating from Bacolod.
Glenn raised the prospect of collaboration, particularly involving concerts. Sir Paul confirmed the openness to the idea, especially the “Concert at the Park” concept.
Athina inquired about Mr. Torre’s ability to balance his acting career with the demands of the business. He pointed out his background in both the arts and marketing, which fuels his determination to diversify his endeavors.
Kael’s curiosity led to asking Joel Torre’s recommended dish, to which he highlighted the beloved Chicken Inasal and the best soup Cansi. The question was actually coming from his fans online via his Facebook Live.
