Davao City – The 2nd Mindanao-wide Chocolate Fair is celebrated simultaneously in SM Malls to its rich and diverse chocolate culture Mindanao has. This not only showcases the delicious and diverse range of chocolates from the region but also promotes the local economy and the hard work of the chocolatiers, slated June 2-4, 2023.

This Mindanao-wide chocolate fair is an offshoot of the celebration of Davao City’s first anniversary as the Chocolate Capital of the Philippines following the enactment of Republic Act 11547 on May 27, 2021.

In Davao City, SM Lanang and SM City Davao joined hands with the City Government of Davao, Department of Agriculture, and the Philippine Cacao Board to showcase the region’s top chocolatiers and cacao producers MS3, Dais Chocolate, Cacao Culture, and Cacao de Davao, Cocolibre Corporation, Household Multipurpose Cooperative, Cacao City, Nutrarich Philippines, and Wit’s Sweets and Savouries along with Park Inn by Radisson Davao at malls’ The Atrium and The Annex Event Center, respectively.

This event provides a platform for local chocolate producers to showcase their products, share their knowledge and experiences, and connect with potential customers and partners. It also allows visitors to indulge in the delightful world of chocolate and appreciate the craft and artistry behind creating fine chocolates.

SM City Mindpro will also feature nine local and regional cacao growers and processors from Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur, and Zamboanga Del Norte namely Sindangan FACOMA Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Barcelona Innovative Cacao Growers (BICAGROW) Agriculture Cooperative, Midsalip Farmers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MIFAMCO), GASA Processed Foods Manufacturing, Marya Soaps and Scents, Piñan Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Onitz Food Products, and Nanan Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

Meanwhile, SM City General Santos aims to promote the chocolate products of cacao producers and processors in the Soccsksargen area. The demand for chocolate in the region has grown increasingly which has created multiple opportunities for the region’s local cacao industry and motivated chocolate producers to improve their production and make quality products.

SM CDO Downtown will also highlight local chocolatiers and cacao producers from Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Bukidnon, and Cagayan de Oro that are now making their names in the industry. These brands are Tsoko Co., Pagmaya Chocolates, Mang Kiko’s Cacao, Jodaca Farms, Tablea ni Mommy Sha, and Sabroso Farm.
