October 10, 2022, President Ferdinand Marcos officially signed the SIM Card Registration Act or Republic Act 11934 for some reasons like security or safeguard for everyone. This is for all kinds of SIM Cards from Phones and Modems of prepaid and postpaid subscribers. The Registration period has already started since December 27, 2022 and will end on April 26, 2023. This is for FREE!

IMPORTANT POINTS!
- When you lost your SIM, your number will be retained, just make contact with your network provider
- Foreigners can have their own while staying in the Philippines and extendable or renewable.
- Automatic Registration of Postpaid establishment by network provider’s contact
- Minors will have to register their SIM cards under their parent’s or guardian’s name.
- Registration of SIM cards in remote areas will be assisted by the DICT, NTC, DILG, DepEd and Telco companies.
- If your SIM is not yet registered until April 26, 2023, it will automatically be deactivated.
- If found guilty to have consciously entered false information during registration such as the usage of fake IDs and such, that individual will face a fine of up to ₱300,000 and imprisonment from 6 months to 2 years. The transfer of a registered SIM to another individual without compliance with the registration process will face similar fines and penalties. This includes those who will spoof or sell a stolen SIM.
