Being the Largest City in the Philippines by area, the King City of the South, the Center of Metro Davao, and other superlatives to mention, Davao City is also tagged as the Durian (King of Fruits) Capital of the Philippines and has a slogan and agreeable tagline ” Life is Here”. and so Pop Davao asked our Davao Bloggers if they agree or not and why?

” I agree with the tagline “Davao Life is Here”. For me who grew to know the place, it has been better than what it was before. The generation now can truly enjoy life here. Job opportunities has been growing for the citizens to support their city life. Cost of living is still not that much, which means more budget for other activities & experiences. Life is here for me because we can do more with what we have. Lastly, we have a balance of industrial improvements & nature. We can easily escape the hustle & bustle of the city & go to peaceful cool places to calm minds.” – JIM CARLO of https://www.digitaldavao.com/ with FB Page https://www.facebook.com/digitaldavao

” Life is here because compared before Davao City has been the safest city for a while now which makes it a livable city. Also even though it is an urbanized city Davao City has also maintaned the beauty of it’s nature. It is also rich in culture and authenticity which also pave the way for local market to be sustainable. ” – GOIN PINEDA of https://justletsgetgoin.wordpress.com/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvK5NipocUtWTbU_YEKJJLQ FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/goinpineda12 IG Handle https://www.instagram.com/goinpineda12/q

” Despite still being relatively safer than some cities in the Philippines, Davao City is far from being a great city to live. I no longer agree with the “adage” that life is here. It used to be that way, especially when I was still in high school, but sadly, the city wasn’t able to preserve that.

Davao City still functions well, but it mostly does for middle to upper-middle-class and upper-class people, and that’s because, according to some experts, Davao’s urban planning is ill-founded. The city’s progress was swift as it opened up to new metropolitan businesses such as malls, condominiums, and other establishments, but the insufficient highway spaces and dense roads couldn’t catch up.

Worst of all, the current lack of public transport doesn’t incite people to leave their houses. It is unmotivating to go out without the assurance of getting a jeepney or taxi seamlessly, especially on rainy days. Many people get stranded on the roads, and it is unbearable to watch. It also prompts people to buy their own private vehicles (despite being unnecessary), which adds more traffic to the city.

I hope the assigned offices are doing something to combat the lack of transport and to ease the traffic in the city. I’m not complaining, but people can’t force me to say that life is here.

When we say “life is here,” we think of comfort, satisfaction, pleasure, and pride, and it has been a while since I have felt that for Davao City. ” – NEP-C LEDESMA of https://nepcledesma.com & https://thepopblogph.com, FP Page : https://www.facebook.com/thepopblogph, IG: https://www.instagram.com/thepopblogph, Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/thepopblogph

” LIFE IS HERE!… Living in Davao is like living in a comfortable room where social systems are good with people living in peace and harmony. I feel safe every time I hang out or go out with my friends to my fave resto, cafe, or bar, even if it’s already late. I felt like sitting in a living room while chilling with my friends. I can do everything like what we normally do at home.

Davao’s economy is growing faster and unstoppable, like how the eagle flies above every other bird. Opportunities are everywhere. Dabawenyos are taking advantage of those chances and having a get-er-done mindset that makes everyone to the top, just for the love of their families. Speaking of family, Davao is also known for being friendly, lovable, and caring.

If I were to choose the best place that I want to be? #DefinitelyDavao is the answer.” JAMES RHED of https://rhedtravels.blogspot.com/ IG: https://www.instagram.com/itsmejamesrhed

” Life is indeed in Davao! I was born and have been living here for more than 30 years. I can say that everything you need is in this city. People here are warm and chill.

We have more businesses and job opportunities for everyone. You can enjoy the commercial and business districts in the heart of the city and reach the beach or the mountains quickly!

Life is definitely not perfect, so is Davao City. We still have transportation and traffic issues. These have been the hot topics since the pandemic and I’m hoping these will be solved immediately. Even if we have imperfections, I can still say that life is here in Davao City!”  JEXX HINGGO of www.jexxhinggo.com, FB: facebook.com/jexxhinggo, Youtube: youtube.com/jexxhinggo

” Life is indeed here in Davao City. Why is that? For somebody like me who has been living in Davao City her entire life, no other city compares to what Davao City has to offer. It is only in Davao City where I feel safer when I walk on the streets; where I can find excellent tasting food at prices that will not hurt your budget; and friendly people who are willing to help out a stranger in need.” – ATHINA INTING-ANGLIONGTO of https://www.i-am-mrs-a.com/, IG: @i.am.athinaaa, FB https://www.facebook.com/iammrsangliongto

” Davao, life is here. Apart from the fact that I was born and raised in this city, I can attest to the changing economic trends that keep this city vibrant. ” – OC LIM of http://www.oc-craft.com/, IG: https://www.instagram.com/carmella08/, FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/OCcraft

” Davao, life is here. Just like our lives, we have our ups and downs. Far from perfect but we still feel at home and safe. The city definitely boasts of the safety as if everyone is so carefree compared to when I’m in other places. Davao has so much to offer and is in progress. But I’d like to believe that life is still here.” – IRISH MALGAPO of https://chibitrips.wordpress.com/, FB: https://www.facebook.com/chibitrips, IG: https://www.instagram.com/chibicreatives/

” I’ve lived here all my life and I still love this city to this day. I can’t imagine living anywhere else in the country. While it is true that it has its set of problems, I believe some of it is just part of the city’s growing pains. I am aware that many are unhappy with the traffic and water issues but I think that comes with the increase in population, road works, and need for better resource allocation. I feel safe in this city and I think while all the negative things being said is true, I don’t believe that those aren’t present issues in other cities as well and I remain hopeful that things will improve in the future. My family has been benefitting from government programs and have had good experiences with the 911 service. I appreciate police visibility and how generally clean the city is. I can’t tell you how much the city government has helped with emergencies we’ve had in the past. Even at the barangay level for concerns, we have had pleasant experiences. Taxi experience undoubtedly the best here as well. These are small things we take for granted until we visit another city. It’s not perfect but it’s a good city. Definitely the city where I want to raise my children. Safety and family are two things I have in Davao and that makes life here great. Its location is a beautiful mix of a modern city that has access to gorgeous beaches, bountiful farms, and picturesque mountains. For me, this is home and life is indeed in Davao. ” – PAULINE RUTA BALAYON of https://www.pamfortheglam.com/, FB Page: https://www.facebook.com/pamfortheglam IG: @pamfortheglam

” Yes, I feel life is indeed here in Davao not because of its vibrant and diverse culture, but because (for years) the city focuses on developing a strong and stable economy with a commitment to peace and security. No wonder that as of to date, Davao City is one of the safest cities in the Philippines, thanks to its strict laws, vigilant police force, and tight security measures. All of these factors have combined to make Davao City a great place to live and work, and a prime example of economic development and security. In short, life is here in Davao because the city offers something for everyone.” – BRIENNE of http://jeitahodo.blogspot.com/
